SAR TEAM COMPLETES INCIDENT COMMAND SYSTEM (ICS) TRAINING
October 27-28. Republic, WA. Members of the Ferry County Search and Rescue Team completed a specialized training course, Introduction to Search and Rescue Management. The ten hour course focused on the Incident Command System and was taught by Lt. Charles Lamica, retired Alaska State Trooper and former State SAR Coordinator. Some of the topics included SAR pre-plans; subject profiles; operational objectives; types of search areas; field resources; and briefings. The Ferry County Search and Rescue Team utilizes continuing education and training exercises to learn new SAR techniques and sharpen hands-on rescue skills. |
